During September 2023 at Toys "R" Us Canada, I had my second opportunity to work on arguably the biggest campaign of the year—the Toys "R" Us Top Toys campaign, designed to promote the years top selling products for the upcoming holiday season.
The goal in the design and execution amongst the team was to keep the visual language simple and clean compared the the previous year as well as shine a light on what makes each toy unique and fun to help parents easily pick out gifts for their children, and with regards to the holidays, give parents the opportunity to get their shopping done early, before these "Top Toys" were sold out for the season.
During the period leading up to Black Friday, and subsequently, the holiday season that follows, Top Toys had to be an all-encompassing campaign. In order to do this, the Top Toys branding took over as much real-estate space on the Toys "R" Us socials and website as possible without overshadowing other concurrently running campaigns or vendor campaigns.
The decision was made to keep begin Top Toys promotion just prior to the start date of the campaign, and keep it running (and active on both platforms) throughout the entire campaign.
